2024 ABC-ATEC Family Day: Team Building & Industry-Academia Collaboration

ABC-ATEC held the "2024 ABC-ATEC Family Day" on November 30 at National Taipei University's Sanxia campus, with strong support from Secretary-General Chen You-Shan. The event was launched by President Li Cheng-Jia, Alumni Association President Xu Ming-Ren, and other distinguished guests. Independent directors, including Professor Zheng Gui-Hui and former Dean Wu Sen-Tian, participated in the "Campus Walk," adding to the event's lively atmosphere. The day featured four main themes: "Industry-Academia Collaboration, Sports Walking, Parent-Child Leisure, and Campus Spring Outing," showcasing ABC-ATEC’s achievements in innovation and collaboration while promoting employee health and work-life balance.
National Taipei University has strongly supported ABC-ATEC’s industry-academia collaboration by opening its Sanxia campus, College of Business building, and E-Commerce Center for employees and their families to experience the latest technologies. The "Virtual Reality (VR) Experience Camp" was a highlight, offering a hands-on experience of the company’s latest VR applications.
Industry-academia collaboration has made significant contributions to ABC-ATEC. The first initiative, the "AI+AOI Project" led by Distinguished Professor Lin Dao-Tong from the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, resulted in the SWI0402 series, which has been successfully introduced to ABC-ATEC's Malaysia plant. Additionally, the "Graphene Conductive and Semiconductor Materials Project," led by Distinguished Professor Lin Jia-Huo, has become a long-term consultancy and research guide for our company’s R&D department.
Industry-academia collaboration has made significant contributions to ABC-ATEC. In May 2022, ABC-ATEC partnered with National Taipei University's E-Commerce Center to launch the "Metaverse Concept Research Project." The project explores opportunities to transition from a traditional electronic industry to an intelligent industry investment, aiming to identify new business opportunities through "small investments, big returns." With support from then-Dean Chen You-Shan, ABC-ATEC’s management collaborated closely with university experts, developing industry-academia collaboration models for exploring new business opportunities.
The "Metaverse Concept Research" project, led by Professor Huang Xu-Li from the E-Commerce Center, includes a team of professors from various departments, such as Associate Professor Wei Jia-Hong, Professors Huang Huai-Sheng, Dai Min-Yu, Liao Kai-Hong, Cai Jia-Chang, and others. The project covers areas like AI, 5G campus networks, cross-language dialogue systems, and metaverse value communities. It involves collaboration between ABC-ATEC and National Taipei University’s experts, including past and current deans.
After over two years of research, projects such as the "5G Campus Private Network,""AI Multimodal Cross-Language Dialogue System (MAITOD),"and the"Grand Metaverse Value Community" show strong commercial value and potential. ABC-ATEC will continue to explore or incorporate these into its plans. In particular, the "VR Experience Camp" and the 5G campus network are key areas of focus in this AI-driven era.

The theme of this year’s Family Day, "ABC-ATEC Innovation, Nurtured by Alma Mater," symbolizes the company's firm commitment to innovation and its emphasis on academic collaboration. ABC-ATEC has held Family Day for three consecutive years, integrating corporate culture and a healthy lifestyle into employees' daily lives, and is committed to continuing to create a harmonious work environment to promote the company’s steady growth.
