ATEC Group Earns 1.5°C Badge for Third Consecutive Year
ATEC Group (TWSE: 3236) today announced another significant milestone in its sustainability journey, receiving CommonWealth Magazine’s 1.5°C Temperature Goal Badge for the third consecutive year. The company once again achieved the highest "Outstanding Performance" rating, underscoring its strong commitment to science-based climate action and alignment with international sustainability standards.
The recognition comes at a pivotal moment as the Group enters a new chapter under the leadership of Chairman Tommy Hsu. Building upon a solid foundation of sustainable development, ATEC Group will continue to advance its low-carbon transformation with renewed vision and long-term commitment.
According to the Group's latest Sustainability Report, ATEC has delivered substantial progress toward its climate goals. In 2025, combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 42.28% compared with the 2021 baseline year, enabling the Group to achieve its original 2030 emissions reduction target five years ahead of schedule.
The Group also made significant progress in its energy transition strategy. Renewable electricity accounted for 34.81% of total energy consumption in 2025, marking another important step toward ATEC's long-term objective of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
ATEC Group attributes its continued recognition to the integration of carbon reduction initiatives into everyday operations. Throughout 2025, continuous investments in production equipment upgrades and HVAC optimization improved energy efficiency, reducing electricity consumption by more than one million kilowatt-hours and avoiding over 500 metric tons of carbon emissions.
The Group has also accelerated its renewable energy deployment. In April 2025, ATEC's Taiwan headquarters commissioned a rooftop solar photovoltaic system, further increasing the proportion of self-generated renewable electricity. Meanwhile, its Guangzhou manufacturing facility successfully implemented an Energy Storage System (ESS) to optimize electricity demand through peak shaving and load balancing. The Group plans to replicate this successful model at its Taiwan headquarters.
To meet the increasingly stringent sustainability requirements of global customers, ATEC continues to expand its procurement of renewable electricity and renewable energy wheeling arrangements, strengthening supply chain decarbonization while maintaining leading performance in climate-related assessments.
"Receiving the 1.5°C Badge for the third consecutive year is both an affirmation of our progress and a responsibility for the future," ATEC Group said. "Under Chairman Tommy Hsu's leadership, we will continue to strengthen science-based energy management, accelerate decarbonization initiatives, and collaborate with customers and partners worldwide to contribute toward limiting global warming to 1.5°C."
