【Chairman Hsu was invited to have a speech in ICBA 2021 Fall, NTPU】
(10/30) Chairman Hsu was invited as a sponsor and distinguished guest speaker to attend the "2021 International Conference on Business Administration-Fall Session at NTPU". The participation of Chairman Joseph Hsu and his wife, the Director & CSR Officer, Mrs. Terza C. Hsu, in this conference shows the importance that Chairman Hsu highly emphasis on the sustainable management of NTPU.
Chairman Hsu acknowledges the efforts of College of Business of NTPU in promoting corporate sustainability and university sustainable development. NTPU was listed in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2021 Impact Rankings of World Universities for the first time this year. NTPU received “Corporate Sustainability Report (Platinum)” and "University Performance Award" from 2020 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA). The College of Business hosted the Conference of Paper Presentations at the 2020 Global Corporate Sustainability Forum (GCSF) and collaborated with Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy(TAISE) to publish the Taiwan Sustainability Value Index (TWSI); the College of Business has been re-accredited by AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and extended its accreditation membership for 5 years, demonstrating that "sustainability" has become a highlight of NTPU. Therefore, from 2019 onwards, Chairman Hsu continuously sponsor the Conference of Paper Presentations organized by the College of Business at the Global Corporate Sustainability Forum (GCSF).In 2021, Chairman Hsu has committed to sponsor International Conference on Business Administration (ICBA) in perpetuity. Former Dean of the College of Business, Prof. Chi, stepped down honorably; Prof. Chen, Dean of the College of Business and Prof. Lin, the Chair of the Department of Business Administration, will continually implement the vision and mission of the College of Business. As a Distinguished Alumni of NTPU, Chairman Hsu remains committed to his mission and personal mission to continuously support the sustainable development of NTPU and encourage the public to see the value of sustainable development in the university.

NTPU has signed numbers of Industry-Academia Collaboration projects with ABC-ATEC, and is the most extensive university that ABC-ATEC has ever worked with. In addition to the flexible issue of supporting the sustainable development in social responsibility, the Industry-Academia Collaboration in technology development and application is a new era of technological innovation for ABC-ATEC. ABC-ATEC corporate with College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of NTPU to carry out Industry-Academia Collaboration in AOI, AI, and IM field, and promote the "ATEC and NTPU Technological Talents Cultivation Co-program”,actively demonstrating the cultivation of human resources as one of the main axes of ABC-ATEC’s sustainable development; with the goal of intelligent and automated factory, effectively utilizing industrial-academic research resources to enhance the academic research and practical operation of the industry.
Chairman Hsu's speech was entitled "Focus on high-tech industry, create another Taiwan miracle" and shared it with students and faculty. In the face of the severe Covid-19 outbreak, Taiwan's economic growth has not been hindered. Last year, Taiwan's GDP grew by 3.11%, ranking 8th in the world, Vietnam ranked 9th at 2.91%, Ireland ranked 10th at 2.48%, and China ranked 12th at 2.27%.Taiwan is already a global leader in economic growth among developed countries. Since 2000, Taiwan has become the world's most important semiconductor industry cluster with its national strategic resources for semiconductors, and at the same time, it has promoted the development of high-tech industries and even spawned new industries, changing the industrial structure of the global supply chain. Under such global changes , universities should train students to understand the global and Taiwan's key high-tech industry development trends, as well as the challenges and opportunities of industry development, and further integrate with industry development through industry-academia cooperation.
